Proton™ consistently achieves Telcordia compliant, singlemode UPC and APC finishes in a handheld and battery operated package. Proton™ incorporates the same Independent Suspension (IS) and optically aligned workholder design found in Krell’s Scepter™ Mass Production Polishing Systems. Proton™ can polish connectors sideways and at most orientations, permitting access to cabling in the tight confines of datacom wire closets, LAN cross-connects, and CATV fiber nodes. Proton™’s portability lends itself to various military and aerospace applications and networks in which field-deployed optical connectors are terminated or require servicing and repair. Q: Can this recover damaged connectors to Telcordia specifications?

A: Proton's actively aligned workholders are designed to achieve Telcordia geometries on ferrule endfaces.

Q: Can this polisher be used in a lab?

A: Yes. We offer a stand for benchtop/table operation.

Q: What is included with the purchase of this unit? Does it polish SC, LC, FC both UPC and APC? Thanks.

A: Workholder fixtures (ie. for SC-UPC, SC-APC, FC-UPC, FC-APC, etc) are purchased as needed with the base Proton polisher. Please forward your specific connector requirements to sales@krelltech.com and we will generate a quotation for your application.

A: Since Proton is designed for repair, only one connector can be polished at a time.
